Yong Tau Foo Kubah Ria has started their business since 2010. There are only one employee who works at this shop. It is located at Kubah Ria, Kuching where it is the only traditional Chinese food that served halal food at that place. The operating hour start from 4:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.
Historical Background of Yong Tau Foo
Yong Tau Foo is a Hakka Chinese cuisine that primarily consist tofu that has been filled with either a ground meat mixture or fish paste. Variations of this food include vegetables and mushrooms that are also stuffed with ground meat or fish paste. It is eaten either dry with a sauce or served as a soup dish. It is commonly found in China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and in cities where there are large Hakka, Teochew and Hokkien populations.
Traditionally, yong tau foo is served in a clear yellow bean stew along with the bitter melon and shiitake variants. The dish can contain a varied selection of food items, including young tau foo, fish balls, crab sticks and various forms of fresh vegetables. The foods are then sliced into bite-size pieces, cooked briefly in boiling broth and then served either in broth as soup or with the broth in a separate bowl.

From our perspectives, this food is one of most healthiest eating option you can find in Kubah Ria, Kuching. Essentially it is a clear soup containing a variety of food. It's particularly healthy as you have the option to choose the food and vegetables that are put in kind of ala - carte. The clear soup is based on water and contains soy bean which of course there is little no oil involved during cooking and most of the ingredient are rich with Omega - 3. The combination makes for a low calories and very tasty delight.
